Indian audiobook platform parent reportedly eyes $200m IPO

Mebigo Labs, which runs India-based audio platform Kuku FM, is preparing for an IPO that could raise up to US$200 million, Bloomberg reported.

The company has selected Kotak Mahindra Capital, Axis Bank, and Morgan Stanley’s India unit to manage the offering, according to people familiar with the matter.

Proceeds may be used to expand Kuku FM’s content library and regional-language offerings, though discussions are ongoing and the IPO size could change.

Kuku FM, launched in 2018, provides audiobooks and stories in several Indian languages, and reports over 10 million paying subscribers on its website.

Mebigo Labs last raised US$85 million in a round led by Granite Asia Capital, with other investors including Vertex Growth Fund, Krafton, IFC, Paramark Ventures, Tribe Capital India, and Bitkraft Ventures, MoneyControl reported.
