Indian AI astrology startup MyNaksh nets $900k pre-seed round

MyNaksh, an AI-powered astrology platform based in India, has raised 7.5 crore rupees (US$900,000) in a pre-seed funding round led by Eximius Ventures and Gemba Capital.

Angel investors from Infinyte Club and other operators also joined the round.

The company said this is the largest pre-seed investment in India’s online astrology sector to date.

MyNaksh was founded by Nitesh Salvi, Devaang Agarwalla, Gaurav Mohta, and Piyush Nagle, who have backgrounds at Indian consumer tech firms such as PhonePe, Razorpay, Hotstar, Gameskraft, and Swiggy.

The platform uses AI to deliver personalized astrology services and connects users to human astrologers.

MyNaksh plans to use the funds to scale its product.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Faith-tech sector attracts unprecedented funding as digital adoption accelerates

  • MyNaksh’s INR 7.5 crore pre-seed round reflects a broader surge in faith-tech investment, with sector funding jumping from $4.3 million in 2023 to $50.7 million in 20241.
  • The spiritual tech market in India, valued at $58.56 billion in 2023, is projected to grow at 10% CAGR until 2032, driven primarily by the 25-35 age demographic which represents a significant portion of revenue2.
  • Leading platforms like AstroTalk have demonstrated the sector’s commercial viability, raising $30.3 million across funding rounds while serving over 4 crore users and generating substantial annual revenue23.
  • This funding trend indicates that investors now view digital astrology and spiritual services as scalable businesses rather than niche offerings, particularly as over 900 spiritual tech startups have emerged in India4.

AI integration becomes the new differentiator in competitive astrology market

  • MyNaksh’s emphasis on AI-powered personalization aligns with industry trends toward technology-enhanced spiritual services, moving beyond the traditional chat-first format that dominates existing platforms.
  • Established players like AstroTalk built success on connecting users with live astrologers—generating significant daily revenue as early as 2019 through a revenue-sharing model with over 41,000 astrologers52.
  • The shift toward AI-driven platforms like Melooha, which raised $635K for AI-powered predictions, demonstrates how startups are attempting to differentiate in a crowded market where traditional consultation models are already established2.
  • This technological evolution reflects broader consumer expectations for personalized digital experiences, as younger users increasingly seek instant, customized spiritual guidance through apps rather than traditional in-person consultations6.
