Narayana Health, a Bengaluru-based hospital operator, signed a memorandum of understanding with the New Development Bank, a multilateral lender for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries, in Jaipur on August 13.

Under the agreement, Narayana Health will share its experience in tech-enabled hospital services with NDB and the bank’s member countries.

NDB President Dilma Rousseff and Narayana founder and chairman Dr Devi Shetty signed the partnership during the first BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting.

The arrangement is a knowledge-sharing partnership rather than a financing commitment.

It will focus on digital health, data systems, technology transfer, and knowledge sharing.

NDB said its membership now stands at 10 countries.

Narayana Health said it operates 55 healthcare facilities across India, has a presence in the Cayman Islands and the UK, and has more than 5,900 operational beds.

NDB has already financed a smart hospital project in Brazil that includes telemedicine, electronic health records, AI-based scheduling, and training on advanced digital tools.
