India drives Coursera’s enterprise growth as AI surges
Coursera sees India as its biggest growth opportunity in the enterprise segment, alongside West Asia, according to VP Karine Allouche.
The enterprise business, which includes companies, universities, and governments, is expanding rapidly in India. Nearly 30% of Coursera’s global campus customers are based in the country, with “Coursera for Campus” adoption rising.
Notably, the enterprise contribution in India surpasses its consumer business, a rare trend globally. However, specific revenue figures were not disclosed.
Globally, Coursera’s B2B segment made up 34% of total revenue in 2024, up from 29% in 2021, while B2C saw a slight decline.
India remains Coursera’s second-largest consumer market, with 28 million registered users as of December 2024, and recorded the highest enrollments that year, surpassing the US.
AI courses, particularly generative AI, have driven growth, with 1.3 million enrollments from Indian learners in 2024, nearly half from enterprise clients.
