Intelligence, a startup based in the US behind DesignArena, said on August 3 that it raised US$7.9 million in seed funding led by Index Ventures, with Conviction, A*, and Valkyrie participating.

DesignArena lets users enter prompts and compare outputs from different AI models for tasks such as websites, images, videos, presentations, apps, and games. Users then rank the results based on their preferences.

The company said the platform has about 5.5 million users and generates US$60 million in annual recurring revenue.

Intelligence was founded in 2025 by Grace Li and Kamryn Ohly, Harvard computer science students who pivoted from building an AI game engine to the ranking platform.

Index Ventures said AI teams at Google, OpenAI, xAI, Meta, and Thinking Machines Lab have used DesignArena to evaluate models.

The firm said the adoption reflects broader efforts to use human feedback to build scalable benchmarks for AI systems.
