Chris Hyams has resigned as CEO of job search platform Indeed after nearly 15 years with the company. He joined Indeed in 2010 as vice president of product and will remain as a board advisor until the end of 2025.

Effective immediately, Deko, who previously served as CEO from 2013 to 2019, has returned to lead the company.

During Hyams’ tenure, Indeed saw major growth. Monthly users exceeded 300 million, and revenue rose by 200 times. The platform now facilitates 27 hires per minute and has helped over 75 million people find jobs.

His departure comes ahead of a new AI-powered platform launch aimed at improving job placement.

In his statement, Hyams said he is stepping down to focus on pressing global issues. These include the ethical development of technology and responsible AI.
