IFC-backed Salmon Bank gets $6.8m capital injection from parent
Salmon Bank Inc. (Rural Bank) said it secured a PHP400 million (US$6.8 million) capital injection from its controlling shareholder Salmon Group Ltd..
The infusion will lift the bank’s equity capital to PHP1.6 billion (US$27.3 million) on a pro-forma basis and is expected to be completed by end-March 2026.
The bank said the funding would raise Salmon Group Ltd.’s total investment in the bank’s upgrade to PHP1.3 billion (US$22.2 million) and lift its pro-forma Core Equity Tier 1 ratio to 23.1% and total Tier 1 to 29.2% using its Dec 31, 2025 balance sheet.
Salmon Bank said it more than doubled its client base year-on-year in 2025 and saw demand for deposit products including an 8% time deposit offering.
Its published Q4 2025 statements showed gross nonperforming loans at 2.1%.
