IFC to invest $25m in India’s Trifecta Capital venture debt fund

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, will invest up to US$25 million in Trifecta Capital’s fourth venture debt fund.

Trifecta Capital, based in India, provides debt financing to startups from series A onward, with a focus on sectors such as EVs, financial services, climate tech, AI infrastructure, manufacturing tech, and agritech.

IFC said the investment aligns with its strategy to support private sector-led development and digital innovation in India, where it aims to double annual commitments to US$10 billion by 2030.

Trifecta Capital’s fourth fund is targeting up to 2,000 crore rupees (US$226.5 million), including a greenshoe option of 500 crore rupees (US$56.5 million).

Founded in 2015, Trifecta Capital has invested in over 220 companies, including Meesho, Zepto, and Urban Company.
