IBM, Anthropic to integrate AI model into software products
IBM and Anthropic have formed a partnership to integrate Anthropic’s Claude AI models into IBM’s software products.
Claude will first be included in IBM’s new AI-driven integrated development environment (IDE), which is now in private preview for select clients.
IBM, a US-based technology company, reported that over 6,000 of its employees are testing the IDE and have seen productivity gains, though these figures have not been independently verified.
The collaboration aims to embed AI-driven features, such as automated code generation, security checks, and orchestration, across the software development lifecycle.
IBM and Anthropic also released a guide on secure enterprise AI agent development, outlining structured processes for building and managing AI agents in businesses.
IBM plans to expand Claude integration into more of its products and contribute best practices and open-source tools to the broader AI developer community.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
