Hyundai, Kia partner with S Korean airport to test AI EV charger
Hyundai Motor and Kia are partnering with Incheon International Airport Corporation to test an AI-powered automatic charging robot for electric vehicles.
The pilot program aims to see if robotic EV charging works well in an airport environment.
The trial will take place at Incheon International Airport, which plans to install 1,110 EV chargers by 2026 to support its green goals.
Hyundai and Kia’s Robotics Lab will provide the robot’s hardware and software and work with the airport on service plans.
The charging robot will be used to charge a fleet of eco-friendly airport vehicles during the trial.
This project shows a step toward using automation in EV charging and could expand to other similar locations.
