🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Weverse’s scale makes customer support a high-stakes operation

  • Weverse Company, a South Korea-based fan platform, served 12 million monthly active users in 2025. Those users spent 263 minutes a month on average 1.
  • That activity fed commerce. Weverse Shop, the platform’s online store, sold 25.2 million products in 2025 1.
  • Handling questions at that volume calls for a support setup built for heavy traffic.
  • Google Cloud’s Customer Experience Agent Studio (CX Agent Studio), the company’s tool for building automated customer service agents, supports multiple languages plus chat and voice. It also includes prebuilt templates. Pricing starts at $0.50 per session for chat and voice, with limits applying 2.

Superfan platforms could be a test case for Google’s broader retail AI vision

  • The partnership gives Google a live test for agentic retail, where AI systems handle more of the customer journey from product discovery through post-purchase support 3.
  • The first use is customer service. Over time, the same agents could also help sell products. AI agents influenced 20% of orders, or $67 billion in global sales, during Cyber Week 2025 3.
  • Superfan platforms bring intense engagement and high spending. That makes them useful places to test these models before wider use in ecommerce.
  • A successful rollout could give gaming, sports, and other niche communities a playbook for direct-to-fan commerce and support across time zones and languages.
