AI startup humans& has raised US$480 million in a seed funding round, valuing the company at US$4.5 billion, according to its announcement on January 21.

The round was led by SV Angel and co-founder Georges Harik, with participation from Nvidia, Alphabet’s VC arm GV, and Jeff Bezos.

Humans&, founded by researchers from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic, and Meta, is developing human-centric AI tools aimed at communication and collaboration.

The company plans to launch a product early this year that will coordinate with people and other AIs to enhance productivity.

Nvidia has become a significant investor in AI startups, leveraging its hardware demand.

The company’s CEO, Eric Zelikman, previously worked at Elon Musk’s xAI and contributed to training data for Grok-2, while Harik played a key role in Google’s early growth, including Gmail and Android.
