Huawei’s Harmony OS targets 100k apps by 2025 amid sanctions

Huawei has announced an objective to develop 100,000 applications for its Harmony OS within six to 12 months, chairman Xu Zhijun revealed.

Currently, Huawei’s Harmony OS supports over 15,000 applications.

The company launched the system five years ago amid U.S. sanctions restricting access to Google’s Android, which prompted a move toward self-reliance.

Despite international trade challenges, Huawei remains committed to investing in Harmony, which was unveiled in August 2019.
