Huawei launches 3D data center in China

Huawei said it launched what it described as the world’s first 3D data center on September 15 at the 2026 AIDC Industry Development Conference and 3D Data Center On-site Meeting in Wuhu, Anhui.

Huawei, a China-based telecommunications and digital infrastructure company, also published a monograph titled 3D Data Center and opened a 3D Data Center Schematic Design Image Library.

Public examples more often use “3D” in data centers to describe modeling, simulation, and visualization for operations rather than a standardised facility category.

Based on available sources, Huawei’s label appears to be company-specific.

The launch comes as China uses efficiency targets, regional energy caps, and power usage effectiveness requirements to manage rising electricity demand from data centers.

Huawei already offers power, cooling, modular data-center, and management products for the sector.
