Huawei debuts Atlas 950 AI supercomputer to rival Nvidia
Huawei is debuting Atlas 950 SuperPoD and TaiShan 950 SuperPoD at MWC Barcelona as alternatives to US-led rivals such as Nvidia.
Huawei said the Atlas 950 SuperPoD is expected to run on next-generation Ascend 950DT chips and be available by the fourth quarter of 2026.
Huawei proposed its open-source Compute Architecture for Neural Networks as an alternative to Nvidia’s CUDA ecosystem and invited developers to collaborate.
Huawei, which is US-sanctioned, has ramped up work on Ascend chips amid restrictions on access to some advanced American technologies.
