Huawei Cloud announced the launch of CodeArts Agent in Singapore on August 28. The AI coding tool has 16 specialised agents across the software development lifecycle, as Huawei expands its enterprise software offerings.

Huawei said CodeArts Agent covers requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution, and code review.

It also supports code generation, software development Q&A, and automated unit test generation for large-scale software projects.

The company also introduced a Singapore Early Bird Program that gives eligible enterprise users three months of free access to the Professional Edition.

CodeArts Agent is part of Huawei Cloud’s broader CodeArts developer tools suite, and an IDE edition integrates with IDEs.

The launch puts Huawei in an existing enterprise market, with GitHub Copilot already targeting organizations through its business plans.

Singapore’s local data-governance rules may also shape adoption among enterprises. The Personal Data Protection Commission has issued guidelines on the use of personal data in generative AI.

The launch also fits Huawei’s broader cloud strategy, with the company having outlined an all-cloud strategy.
