HSBC has appointed Nick Elias as head of wealth platforms, Wealth and Premier Solutions, effective August 15, 2026.

Based in London, he will move from his current role as global head of customer relationship management in the Corporate and Institutional Banking chief operating office and report to Lavanya Chari, head of Wealth and Premier Solutions at HSBC.

The role is part of International Wealth and Premier Banking’s Wealth and Premier Solutions unit.

HSBC created the unit as a single product and solutions center spanning wealth products across markets and some retail products, including mortgages, unsecured lending, and transaction banking.

Elias will also lead the Wealth Transformation Programme, including Wealth Intelligence, an adviser-facing generative AI platform used by staff to analyze and summarise HSBC research and external news from more than 10,000 data sources.

HSBC plans to add product screening for client discussions.

The appointment comes as wealth managers reimagine desktops with generative AI for adviser workflows, client insights, and portfolio planning, according to EY.
