Hong Kong-based Sentimento Technologies launched MonoClaw on 26 May as more companies explore AI systems that process data locally instead of relying fully on cloud infrastructue.

The company said the software lets professionals and small and medium-sized businesses run AI models on Mac devices while keeping core data processing on-device, reflecting growing demand for privacy-focused AI tools.

Sentimento said the product includes AI tools for tasks such as email and messaging follow-up, while higher-risk actions and external commands still require user approval.

The company is also using a one-time licensing model rather than recurring subscriptions. The software currently requires newer Apple Mac devices for local AI processing.

MonoClaw enters an existing niche of local-first AI tools on Apple devices. An App Store app already says it offers on-device models on Macs and workflow automation for professional users.

The launch also comes as Hong Kong’s privacy regulator published an AI checklist for employee use of generative AI and an AI framework on personal data protection.
