Hong Kong regulators propose new law for stablecoin issuers
Hong Kong authorities are proposing a regulation mandating that stablecoin issuers acquire a license from the central bank before selling to retail customers. Stablecoin issuers would be required to have strong stabilization methods and hold high-quality, highly liquid reserve assets.
These companies must also be incorporated in Hong Kong with a locally based CEO.
