Hong Kong fintech firm Reap to test AI purchasing setup
Hong Kong-based stablecoin payments fintech Reap said on October 8 that it was partnering with AIR, Minds by Animoca Brands, and Palo Alto-based agentic commerce infrastructure startup Pivota to develop AI purchasing for verified users within pre-approved spending limits.
Under the proposed setup, AIR would verify users’ identity attributes and entitlements. Minds would interpret user intent.
Reap would issue payment credentials limited by merchant, amount, and timeframe, then execute checkout.
Pivota would select products and merchants, and orchestrate orders.
AIR supports privacy-preserving identity, while Minds describes itself as a personal AI agent platform.
The partnership will start with a controlled demonstration involving one merchant.
The companies said the test would cover eligibility verification and transaction authorization without exposing underlying identity data.
Hong Kong regulates stablecoin issuers, though the announcement does not establish that Reap is one.
Visa and Mastercard are developing AI purchasing capabilities and agentic commerce rails, respectively.
