Hong Kong-based Buy&Ship, a cross-border ecommerce platform that helps consumers buy products from overseas, said on September 25 that it had joined the TSE Asia Startup Hub, an initiative led by Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc., as the program’s first Hong Kong scale-up.

The company said the move would support its expansion in Japan and help it pursue cross-border commerce, brand partnerships, and opportunities in AI and retail technology.

Buy&Ship said the hub supports Asian companies with ties to Japan by helping them expand in the Japanese market and build partnerships with Japanese companies.

A Tokyo Stock Exchange initial public offering was cited as one possible outcome.

Buy&Ship said it already has operations in Japan, including a warehouse that moved to Chiba, and parcel-forwarding services from Japan to Hong Kong.

The company previously announced the first close of US$12 million in series C funding for global expansion and a US launch.

That suggests it is entering the hub as a growth-stage company, though the cited materials did not disclose an initial public offering plan.
