Hong Kong digital bank WeLab revenue rises 8% in H1 2026
WeLab Bank, a Hong Kong digital bank, said first-half 2026 revenue rose about 8% year on year to HK$492 million (US$62.7 million), driven by growth in lending, wealth management, and multi-currency services.
The bank said net interest income increased 8.4% to HK$466 million (US$59.3 million).
It also said its retail loan portfolio exceeded HK$6.1 billion (US$777 million).
WeLab Bank said its net interest income and net interest margin ranked first among Hong Kong digital banks.
The bank said it invested about HK$20 million (US$2.55 million) in technology, AI, and products during the period.
Excluding those investments, it said it would have recorded an adjusted profit of about HK$14.6 million (US$1.86 million).
WeLab Bank also said assets under management on GoWealth nearly doubled year on year.
It added that multi-currency deposits rose 87% from the end of 2025, helped by foreign exchange and overseas spending services.
Hong Kong’s digital banks are regulated under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s digital bank framework.
