Honeywell-backed Quantinuum reaches $17.6b valuation
Quantinuum shares rose 13.3% to US$68 in their Nasdaq debut on June 4.
The Broomfield, Colorado-based quantum computing company priced its initial public offering at US$60 per share, raising US$1.68 billion and reaching a valuation of about US$17.63 billion.
Quantinuum sells trapped-ion systems through cloud and hardware-as-a-service offerings, alongside software tools used in fields including chemistry, materials science, and cybersecurity.
The company was formed in 2021 through the merger of Honeywell Quantum Solutions and Cambridge Quantum.
Honeywell International will retain about 48.1% of Quantinuum’s voting power after the offering.
Quantinuum reported US$30.9 million in 2025 revenue and a net loss of US$192.6 million.
About 60% of that revenue came from Japan’s RIKEN research institute under an agreement to install hardware for a quantum-supercomputing platform.
Sector sentiment was also helped by reports of a US Department of Commerce plan to invest in nine quantum computing companies, including Quantinuum.
