Honda to stop making Acura EV built by GM in US

Honda is ending production of its Acura ZDX EV in the US, according to an internal message.

The Acura ZDX, assembled by General Motors at its Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, was scheduled to begin production for the 2026 model year this month.

Honda cited current market conditions for EVs as the reason for the decision.

Production of the Honda Prologue, another EV built by GM in Mexico, will continue.

Honda has sold about 19,000 ZDX units in the US since its launch last year, with over 11,000 sold through August 2025.

GM declined to comment on the decision.
