Honda may resume merger talks if Nissan CEO leaves: sources

Honda Motor and Nissan Motor could resume merger discussions to create the world’s fourth-largest automaker, according to a report by the Financial Times.

The talks depend on Nissan’s CEO, Makoto Uchida, stepping down, as cited by a source familiar with the issue.

Previous discussions to form a US$60 billion entity recently collapsed.

Honda said that the report did not originate from its organization, while Nissan did not comment.
