HK develops AI models to predict 30 types of cancer
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has developed four AI models for improved diagnostics in the medical field.
These models can identify and predict up to 30 types of cancers and diseases with accuracy comparable to experienced medical professionals.
Supporting these models is HKUST’s AI supercomputing facility, which enhances computational abilities.
This facility uses extensive data sets and advanced machine training methods to improve model performance.
One model, under the leadership of Prof. Chen Hao, analyzed over 160 million images related to 32 cancer types.
