Suanova said at a ceremony in Shanghai on September 23 that it will support the “Suanova Hong Kong-Shanghai Joint Laboratory for AI in Healthcare,” a project set up by Fudan University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with computing infrastructure and technical services.

The joint laboratory will focus on AI research in medicine, clinical practice, and public health.

Prof. Zhang Wenhong, head of Fudan University’s Institute of Infection and Health, is one of its academic leaders.

Suanova, a technology company focused on AI computing services and operating in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Yeebo (International Holdings), an electronic components company.

Yeebo chairman Douglas Fang also signed a donation agreement with the Fudan University Education Development Foundation for the joint laboratory, according to the press release.

PolyU has also publicized the collaboration, while Fudan has separately described broader research into integrating AI with medical intelligence.
