Hewlett Packard lands $1b AI server deal for Musk’s X

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has secured a deal exceeding US$1 billion to supply servers optimized for AI workloads to X, Elon Musk’s social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The agreement was reportedly finalized in late 2024, according to anonymous sources.

Competitors Dell Technologies and Super Micro Computer were also in contention for the contract.

HPE and Dell declined to comment, while Super Micro acknowledged ongoing partnerships, including one with X, for AI data centers.

This deal reflects the growing demand for AI-focused computing, benefiting server providers like HPE.
