Hewlett Packard Enterprise announces four AMD EPYC servers
Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced four ProLiant servers powered by AMD’s 6th Gen EPYC chips on October 8, targeting AI inference, analytics, virtualization, and simulation.
The DL525 and DL585a are aimed at compute-intensive enterprise workloads.
The Open Compute Project-compliant XD245 and XD285 use shared power and cooling for dense AI and high-performance computing deployments.
HPE said Integrated Lights-Out 8, or iLO 8, and Compute Ops Management add automated security and management.
The DL525 is due later in 2026, the DL585a in early 2027, and the XD systems in 2027.
AMD has promoted its 6th Gen EPYC portfolio’s launch and its efforts to target AI in data centers. EPYC Venice has 256 cores, 1.6 TB/s of bandwidth, and PCIe Gen 6.
The XD systems’ shared power and cooling align with efforts to improve cooling efficiency in dense deployments.
A May 2026 report said AMD held 46% of server x86 CPU revenue.
