Harvard dropouts launch AI smart glasses with live transcription

Two former Harvard students are launching a pair of “always-on” AI-powered smart glasses that record, transcribe, and display information during conversations in real time.

The founders, AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio, have raised US$1 million from investors including Pillar VC, Soma Capital, Village Global, and Morningside Venture, and open pre-orders at US$249 starting August 20, 2025.

The glasses do not feature an external indicator to alert others when recording, unlike Meta’s smart glasses, raising concerns among privacy advocates about the normalization of covert recording devices.

Currently, the glasses rely on a companion smartphone app for processing, using chatbots from Google and Perplexity to provide live information.
