Hakuhodo DY Media Partners and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand the international reach of Japanese intellectual properties (IPs), including anime and manga.

The agreement seeks to address the growing global demand for such content.

The partnership, based in Tokyo and Singapore, will focus on markets in Asia and the Middle East, particularly in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.

SC Ventures’ “Project Engram” will play a key role by connecting rights holders with licensed fund managers to monetize Japanese IPs.

The collaboration will also explore tokenization opportunities, using financial technology to create tokenized IP assets.
