This platform extends Vingroup’s vertically integrated EV ecosystem

• GSM runs ride-hailing services as an affiliate of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, set up to drive large-scale demand for VinFast electric vehicles 1.
• In Vietnam, the approach helped GSM take over 50% of the ride-hailing market. The company is also seeking a possible US$20 billion valuation in a 2027 foreign listing, per a Nikkei Asia report cited by Vietnam Investment Review 2.
• GSM is building on its Philippines presence, where Green GSM Philippines operates the country’s first all-electric taxi fleet using VinFast vehicles 3.
• Local partners support the rollout. BDO Unibank is providing financing. V-Green, VinFast’s charging infrastructure affiliate, has approvals for EV charging stations in four SM Supermalls, part of a major Philippine mall chain, with expansion planned across other sites in the BDO–SM ecosystem 3.

Free charging and vehicle programs sharpen driver incentives

• GSM is offering free charging through March 31, 2029. The company is pairing it with VinFast vehicles plus VinFast purchase or rental programs for driver partners in Indonesia and the Philippines, the company said.
• Rivals that lack vehicle or charging assets may need deeper EV partnerships or new infrastructure spending to keep incentives attractive.
• For VinFast, a built-in fleet of drivers supports its long-term goals beyond near-term vehicle sales.
• The fleet can also generate road data for VinFast’s autonomous driving work. VinFast is testing prototypes, moving toward pre-production, and working toward commercialization of Level 4 technology through its partnership with Tensor. Level 4 means vehicles can handle most driving tasks on their own in certain conditions 1.
