Groww rolls out AI products to expand trading, wealth tools

Groww, an Indian online stockbroker and retail investing app, unveiled six AI-enabled products at its inaugural product showcase Groww Next to broaden its offerings across trading, fixed income, and wealth management.

The company said it will use AI to assist investors while keeping decisions with users through consent, transparency, and built-in safeguards.

Groww said its AI investing assistant will read markets, track news sentiment, and deliver personalised portfolio insights, while Groww Prime will help manage mutual fund portfolios and a new Bonds feature will allow retail investors to buy and sell on the secondary bond market via curated listings and internal risk-evaluation frameworks.

The firm also launched a family wealth management feature to centralise investments, and expanding digital tools for PMS and AIF segments.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Groww’s new products fit a wider plan to expand the platform

  • Groww launched six new products that widen its mix across trading, fixed income, and wealth management, while the announcement does not describe a shift to a “multiple apps” plan 1.
  • Groww is not pitching a single “super app.” It is rolling out focused features for different groups, including active traders using a new high-frequency trading mode and investors using a family wealth management hub.
  • The rollout adds more pick-and-choose options, from a bonds feature for buying and selling in the secondary bond market to mutual fund portfolio management through Groww Prime.

The “assistive AI” model keeps users in charge in a regulated sector

  • Groww frames “assistive AI” as a choice built for a tightly regulated financial sector, with consent, transparency, and safeguards that keep decisions with users 2.
  • Groww says its AI investing assistant will read markets, track news sentiment, and provide personalised portfolio insights, while the user makes the final call.
  • The same “assistive” idea also runs through fixed-income features for individual investors, including curated bond listings plus internal risk-evaluation frameworks for the secondary bond market tool.
