Green GSM, a Vietnam-based electric taxi operator, launched an all-electric taxi service in Northern Mindanao, the Philippines, on September 29.

The company said the launch followed a trial that began in late August. Riders can book through its app, hotline, or by hailing a taxi on the street.

The service covers El Salvador, Cagayan de Oro, Laguindingan, Alubijid, and Opol, and uses a fleet of VinFast electric vehicles.

Green GSM said the rollout is Northern Mindanao’s first all-electric taxi service. It added that it had previously launched electric taxi services in Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and other parts of Mindanao.

In the Philippines, electric vehicle taxi services are expanding through dedicated franchise quotas, including 8,000 franchises in Metro Manila and 500 slots in Bicol.
