GrabMaps, Tino superapp partner on Mongolia map project

GrabMaps and Tino have announced a collaboration to map Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with plans to expand to other cities.

GrabMaps, a provider of mapping technology and location data, will supply Tino with hardware and software to collect street-level imagery and mapping data.

Jointly branded vehicles equipped with GrabMaps’ KartaCam 2 and KartaDashCam devices will gather information on road networks, points of interest, and traffic infrastructure across the city.

Collected data will be processed by GrabMaps’ platform to develop detailed maps for Tino and enable features such as geocoding, routing, and address capture.

Tino, a Mongolian superapp whose CEO is from Teso Investment, will use these services to support its upcoming taxi and delivery operations.

GrabMaps’ technology is also used by Grab and third-party clients, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft’s Bing Maps, Huawei’s Petal Maps, and PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, in Southeast Asia.
