Grab will launch Ai.R, its first autonomous vehicle service for consumers in Singapore, in partnership with WeRide.

The Land Transport Authority selected Grab to operate the new AV shuttle service in Punggol, the only service chosen to run on two designated routes, starting with an initial fleet of 11 vehicles.

The fleet features WeRide’s five-seater GXR and eight-seater Robobus, the first AVs in Punggol to pass Singapore’s Milestone 1 safety assessment.

During the initial phase, Ai.R vehicles will operate with onboard safety operators as they undergo route familiarisation.

Grab expects passenger service to begin by early 2026, connecting residents to amenities like supermarkets, clinics, schools, and transport hubs.

More than 10 Grab driver-partners are being trained as AV safety operators through GrabAcademy and WeRide.

All Ai.R passengers are covered by Grab’s personal accident insurance policy, and a dedicated AV customer support hotline is available.

Passengers will also be able to track shuttles in real time using the Grab app.
