Grab unveils new family, food, travel features
Grab has announced several new products and features at its first GrabX product showcase.
For families, Grab introduced “Grab for Family | Teens,” allowing teenagers aged 13 to 17 to book rides independently using a linked family account.
This feature includes safety measures such as ride PIN verification and trip monitoring. A rollout is planned for May 2025.
Individual users can now access “GrabFood for One,” which offers affordable meal options with no minimum order requirement and low delivery fees.
The “Shared Saver” feature allows users to join nearby live food orders, helping to reduce delivery costs. This feature will be piloted in Singapore in April, with plans for expansion to other cities by June.
For travelers, Grab has launched an “Advance Booking (Airport Pickup)” feature that adjusts pre-scheduled rides based on flight statuses.
This service is available at select airports in Southeast Asia, with plans for further expansion.
Grab also introduced “Dine Out Discovery,” a tool powered by GrabMaps to help users locate nearby dining options and promotions.
Additionally, a new “Travel Pass” offers vouchers for airport rides, transportation, and dining throughout Southeast Asia.

The GrabX product showcase highlights Grab’s continued expansion beyond its origins as a taxi-booking app in Malaysia to becoming a comprehensive lifestyle platform addressing multiple user needs.
This follows a deliberate strategic evolution that began with rebranding to “Grab” in 2016 to consolidate its diverse offerings under one umbrella and enhance brand recognition1.
Since acquiring Uber’s Southeast Asian operations in 2018, Grab has significantly expanded its market dominance, now controlling 75% of the Southeast Asian ride-sharing market with 180 million users and approximately 46 million rides completed daily2.
