Grab in talks to buy majority stake in Atome
Grab Holdings Ltd. is reportedly in talks to buy a majority stake in Atome Financial, a Singapore-based buy now, pay later provider and business unit of Advance Intelligence Group.
The deal could value Atome at more than US$2 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
Atome offers 0% instalments for shoppers in Singapore, and Advance lists Atome Financial as a business unit on its website.
Grab already offers PayLater in Malaysia, so the acquisition would expand its consumer finance business.
Grab has also reportedly agreed this year to buy Stash Financial Inc in the US for an enterprise value of US$425 million.
It also agreed to buy Foodpanda’s Taiwan operations from Delivery Hero SE for US$600 million.
Atome’s revenue reportedly rose 80% in 2025 to US$470 million, helping it post a second straight annual pretax profit.
Atome previously posted US$236 million in operating income and a full-year profit in 2024, while its Singapore site also cites the code for the local buy now, pay later Code of Practice.
