Grab Indonesia has rejected demands made by online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers during a protest at the National Monument (Monas) on July 22, 2025.

The drivers, represented by the Ojol Drivers Association Garda Indonesia, sought a revenue-sharing model of 90% for drivers and 10% for platform operators.

Tirza Munusamy, Chief of Public Affairs at Grab Indonesia, said that the current commission structure supports app usage and services.

This includes 24-hour operations, accident insurance, educational programs, and driver welfare initiatives.

Munusamy noted that the proposed revenue split would compromise the sustainability of the business model.

Despite the rejection, Munusamy expressed Grab’s support for the government’s plan to increase ojol fares.

She highlighted that fare rates have remained unchanged for three years, even as costs for drivers have risen.
