Grab operations in Vietnam remained largely normal through September 14 despite calls for a two-day driver boycott over fares and deductions, as regulators reviewed complaints about pricing and fees.

Vietnam’s National Competition Commission said on September 11 that it had asked Grab and other ride-hailing platforms for pricing, fee, and commission information. The move showed the watchdog can seek data from market players during a review.

The watchdog is also reviewing Grab’s pricing, fee, and commission policies after drivers threatened to strike.

Drivers on social media said lower fares and higher deductions were cutting their income. Some claimed deductions on individual trips could reach 50% of the passenger fare.

Grab told authorities operations remained stable in recent days. The company also warned that fake bookings or ride disruptions could lead to account suspension under its code of conduct.
