Grab execs buy over $30m in stock after share slump

Grab said its executives bought more than US$30 million of company stock after its shares hit their lowest level.

Filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission show CEO Anthony Tan bought US$30 million of shares, while the company’s COO Alex Hungate bought about US$867,000.

The stock fell 50% in the past year and touched US$2.74 on September 19, its lowest level since May 2023, before closing 8.9% higher on September 22.

Grab also announced about US$900 million in share buybacks over the next 12 months.

The purchases came after Grab said it had turned profitable earlier in 2026. The company later reported US$235 million in second-quarter profit and raised its 2026 outlook.
