Grab deepens Superbank bet through GXS Bank

An Indonesia Stock Exchange filing dated May 29 showed GXS Bank, a Singapore-based digital bank jointly owned by Grab and Singtel, bought 2.44 billion shares in PT Super Bank Indonesia Tbk, or Superbank, taking a 7.22% stake.

A separate filing showed A5-DB Holdings Pte Ltd bought 47.23 million SUPA shares, lifting ownership linked to Grab to 23.5%; A5-DB was previously identified as Grab’s investment vehicle in Superbank.

The purchase increase Grab’s exposure to Superbank through both GXS Bank and affiliated investment entities.

Superbank offers lending services through the Grab, OVO, and Superbank apps and has positioned itself as part of a broader embedded finance ecosystem in Indonesia.
