Google said to develop ‘AI Mode’ feature for its search engine

Google is reportedly working on a new feature called “AI Mode” for its search engine, offering a conversational interface similar to the Gemini AI chatbot.

This feature will display AI-driven responses alongside traditional search results, integrated into tabs like “All,” “Images,” and “Videos,” with links to related pages and a follow-up question bar.

Google has not commented on the development.

This reported move aligns with increased competition in AI-enhanced search, as OpenAI recently expanded ChatGPT-powered search to all users, and Google introduced AI search summaries to more countries in October 2024.
