Google pays $340m to settle tax dispute with Italy
Google agreed to pay 326 million euros (US$340 million) to settle a tax dispute with Italian authorities, announced Milan prosecutors on Feb. 20.
This follows a request from prosecutors to drop the case against Google Ireland Ltd.
Previously, the Italian government sought 1 billion euros (US$1.04 billion) in unpaid taxes and penalties from the company.
This settlement occurs years after Google settled an earlier tax issue with Italy.
