Google moves Gemini to standalone app on iOS
Google has removed its AI assistant, Gemini, from the main Google app on iOS, directing users to download the standalone Gemini app.
Previously available in the Google app, Gemini’s standalone version offers voice interactions, AI-generated summaries, integration with Google services like YouTube and Gmail, and trip planning.
Google warned users that Gemini may produce errors and encouraged verifying responses.
Those attempting to access Gemini in the Google app on iOS will now see a prompt directing them to the standalone app.
