Google has introduced a speech translation feature for its video conferencing platform, Meet.

This tool, demonstrated at the I/O event, uses the company’s Gemini AI technology to translate spoken language into the preferred language of conversation partners.

The translation feature maintains the speaker’s voice, tone, and expression.

It currently supports English and Spanish.

Plans are in place to add Italian, German, and Portuguese in the coming weeks.
