Google completes Wiz acquisition

Google said it completed its acquisition of Wiz and will retain the Wiz brand as the team joins Google Cloud.

Wiz is a cloud and AI security platform that links code, cloud, and runtime to map environments and identify exposures, Google said.

Google will integrate Wiz with Google Unified Security and combine it with Google Threat Intelligence and Security Operations, alongside Gemini and Mandiant Consulting, to form an AI-powered security offering.

Google said Wiz will continue to support multiple clouds and that its products will remain available on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Platform, as well as on-premises, packaged applications, virtual environments, and software as a service (SaaS) environments.

Google framed the deal as a response to rising multicloud and AI-related threats and said Wiz’s features aim to speed detection, prioritization, and remediation.

Google also said it will maintain marketplace partnerships and enable system integrators, resellers, and managed security service providers to offer broader solutions and provide new integration opportunities.
