Google Cloud has announced the launch of Indonesia BerdAIa for Security, a program designed to improve cybersecurity in Indonesia’s major economic sectors.

The initiative was unveiled on July 17, 2025, and includes the establishment of a local security operations data region in Jakarta, allowing organizations to store security telemetry data domestically.

The program offers tools and training to help organizations enhance cyber resilience and implement AI-driven security systems.

It features Google’s Security Operations platform, which combines Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) capabilities.

The new data region allows local entities, including government agencies and regulated industries, to comply with data residency laws.

Research indicates that this adoption could potentially reduce cyberattack-related losses in Indonesia by up to 29 trillion rupiah (US$1.8 billion) over the next five years.
