Google Cloud expands Jakarta’s capacity to meet rising demand
Google Cloud has expanded its Jakarta cloud region’s computing capacity to meet growing demand for cloud services in Indonesia.
This expansion comes ahead of the Google Cloud Summit Jakarta on May 22, 2025.
Launched in 2020, the Jakarta region has contributed 900 trillion rupiah (US$55 billion) to Indonesia’s economy and supported nearly 92,000 jobs annually.
A study predicts the region will generate 1,400 trillion rupiah (US$88 billion) in economic value and support 240,000 jobs each year over the next five years.
The Jakarta data centers enable local data storage and processing, complying with regulatory requirements while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
The region connects to Google Cloud’s global private network, facilitating data transfer between 42 regions worldwide.
