Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai provided updates on the company’s AI products during its Q2 2025 earnings call.

Key highlights included growth in AI Overviews, Gemini, and AI Mode, alongside increased developer activity with its AI tools.

Google’s AI Overviews, which summarize search results, now serve 2 billion monthly users across 200 countries and territories.

The Gemini app has reached 450 million monthly active users, with daily requests rising by over 50% from the previous quarter.

AI Mode, an AI-powered chat feature for Google Search, has surpassed 100 million monthly active users and is gradually expanding beyond the US and India.

On the developer front, more than 9 million developers have used Gemini, while 70 million videos were created using Veo 3 and nearly 1 million users are active on Google Vids.

Over 50 million users used AI-powered meeting notes on Google Meet, and Google now processes 980 trillion tokens monthly.

Despite this growth, investor concerns about rising AI-related capital spending led to a post-earnings stock drop.
